Choose Your Advisor and Pick a Time

Both of our advisors help with health insurance. If you already know what you need help with, the guide below points you to the right calendar. If you're not sure, pick either one. We'll make sure you end up talking with the right person.

Mandy, Co-Owner & Advisor

Smiling person with blonde hair and tattooed arms sitting outdoors in a black dress

Mandy started Lighthouse Group in 2015, after coming to insurance from the nonprofit world with no insurance background. She'll explain things from the beginning as many times as you need.

Book with Mandy if you need help with:

  • Individual or family health insurance
  • Marketplace plans and tax credit eligibility
  • Health shares and other private options
  • Small business or self-employed health coverage

DJ, Co-Owner & Advisor

Smiling man in glasses and checkered shirt standing beside a red corrugated wall

DJ wears a lot of hats at Lighthouse Group. He works with clients on health insurance, Medicare, life insurance, and disability coverage, so one conversation can cover very different needs in the same family.

Book with DJ if you need help with:

  • Medicare, including turning 65 or reviewing your current plan
  • Life insurance, final expense, or long-term care
  • Long-term disability coverage
  • Individual or family health insurance

What to Expect After You Book

No mystery, no sales pitch disguised as a "quick chat." Here's how it works.

Black email envelope with a checkmark badge icon

1: You'll Get a Confirmation

Right after you book, you'll get an email with your meeting time and a link to join. Need a different time? You can reschedule from that email.

2: Gather a Few Things (If You Have Them)

It helps to have a list of your doctors and prescriptions, your current plan details if you have one, and a rough income estimate if you're shopping for marketplace coverage. Business owners can bring a basic employee list. Don't have everything? Come anyway. We'll figure out the rest together.

3: We Talk Through Your Situation

We'll ask about your needs, explain your options in plain English, and answer every question you bring, including the ones you think are too basic. Most consultations happen by [video or phone, confirm with client], so you can join from your kitchen table.

4: We Do the Research

After we talk, we compare options across multiple carriers and come back with a shortlist that fits. You decide what happens next, and "I need to think about it" is always a perfectly good answer.

[Medicare note: If you book a Medicare appointment, you'll receive a short Scope of Appointment form before your meeting. Confirm process and timing with client and FMO.]

Questions About Your Consultation

  • Does a consultation cost anything?

No. There's no charge for a consultation and no obligation to enroll in anything. Broker compensation is typically paid by the insurance carrier only if you choose a plan.

  • How long does the consultation take?

Most consultations take about 30 minutes. If your situation needs more time, like a family with several types of coverage, we'll schedule a follow-up so you're never rushed.

  • What if I'm not sure whether to book with Mandy or DJ?

Pick either one. Both are advisors and owners, and if your question fits the other person better, we'll bring them in. You won't have to start over.

  • Can my spouse or adult child join the call?

Yes, and we encourage it. Insurance decisions often involve more than one person, and it's easier when everyone hears the same explanation at the same time.

  • Can we meet in person instead?

In-person meetings at our Colorado Springs office are available by request. Most clients find virtual meetings easier, since there's no drive and no parking.

  • What's a Scope of Appointment form?

It's a short form Medicare requires before we discuss certain Medicare plans with you. It simply confirms which types of plans you'd like to talk about. It doesn't enroll you in anything or commit you to anything.

  • What if I need to reschedule?

No problem. Use the link in your confirmation email to pick a new time, or call us at 719-645-6281.

Rather Not Pick a Time Yet?

That's fine too. Send us a quick message and we'll reach out to you, or give us a call if you'd rather talk now. Either way, you'll hear back from a real person on our team.
